A much loved incense from the forests of South America, used for thousands of years in energetic cleansing, in ritual and in preparation for ceremony. When burnt, Palo Santo gives of a strong white/grey smoke with a sweet aroma. Traditionally Palo Santo is a plant that cleanses and protects, inviting clarity and joyfulness.
The Palo Santo Sticks are sustainably harvested in Piura, Peru. Only branches that have fallen naturally from the trees are collected.
Light the tip of the Smudge Stick and, once the flames catch, carefully blow them out so that the tip smolders and glows. Use a feather or the palm of your hand to distribute the smoke. Occasionally blow gently on the glowing tips to encourage the smoke. Small embers can come loose, so care should be taken when smudging. After use, extinguish the smudge stick by placing it in a fireproof metal or ceramic bowl. The stick can be used repeatedly until reduced to ash.
